We got out right after a thunderstorm so we didn't experience the typical Reston National 5+ hour round. We actually finished in under 4 hours even though we waited on a few tee boxes while one of the pros gave a playing lesson to a twosome. The greens were rolling very true, but the fairways were a bit shaggy. This course is a nice layout, but try to get a deal to make it worth your $.

Our golf association plays Reston twice a year during the week, and, since we play early, we never encounter the slow play that seems to plague this course. The greens had an unusual number of unrepaired ball marks, but were generally in good shape. Surprisingly, the fairways had an unusual amount of what appeared to be crab grass. Still a good traditional play-bang around on the internet for a good weekend deal.

This is the worst golf operation in NoVA. Nice layout, but it's all about maximizing revenue here. Even though the course was booked the starter was sending out groups of walk-ons between the groups with tee times. 8 carts backed up on the second tee. 1:20 to play the first 3 holes. A disaster.

I played on a Friday afternoon. The course was in good shape and the pace of play was 4 hours and 10 minutes which is a lot faster then the 3.5 hours it took me to play 9 holes on a Sunday.

I had a 1:20 tee time. I teed off at 2:00 and it took 3.5 hours to play 9 holes. I gave up after 9 because I was not going to finish the round in my life time.
